Parents, Schools Urged To Encourage Creativity In Pupils
The General Manager, sales and marketing, Bobo Food and Beverages Limited, Mr. Lawrence Chimezie, has advised parents and school authorities, especially in primary schools, to identify latent talents in pupils and assist in developing them.
He said this in Lagos while introducing the company’s maiden edition of ‘Bobo kids with voices’, an annual musical competition among primary school pupils in Lagos State.
He said, “At a very tender age, many of the children would have started manifesting the latent talents deposited in them from birth. So, it takes the parents and teachers to notice them and begin to nurture them.”
Chimezie, who said the competition would last between October and December, added that each participating group would record a song with the theme, ‘The Nigeria of my dreams.’
He said, “The programme is aimed at growing the musical talent of primary school children, as well as teaching them the beauty of teamwork. Lagos is the test location for the project. Later, it will be taken to other parts of the country.”
Chimezie said that for any primary school to qualify for participation, it must submit 200 wraps of the 200ml size of Bobo and CD of its recorded song, apart from obtaining a form from local education secretaries in their respective areas
