NSCDC arrests fake NYSC Member In Jigawa State
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa, has arrested an 18-year-old man, Muhammad Ibrahim, for impersonating as a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
The state Commandant of the corps, Mr Muhammad Gidado, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Dutse.
He said the suspect was arrested while roaming the premises of the state secretariat wearing the uniform of the NYSC. He said the suspect was arrested by men of the command operating in the area.
The commandant told NAN that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect was not a genuine corps member.
“On investigation, we discovered that he is not a genuine corps member; we are also skeptical about the contradictory responses he gave,” he said.
Gidado said suspect had been handed over to the Department of State Services (DSS) in the state for further investigation.
“His questionable disposition while in our custody informed the decision to transfer him to the DSS for further investigation,” he said.
